Baguio Transportation

The country's summer capital welcomes visitors and tourists from almost everywhere during the Flower Festival.

Buses bound to Baguio are fully booked on these extra special days, hotels are fully booked as well. So take time and book a month in advance if you wish to experience the festival of festivals in the North.

Here's my instruction on transportation if you wish to just observe the events particularly the highlights of the festival which is the street dancing, usually falls on a Saturday and the grand float parade, which is on the following day, Sunday.

Going to Baguio City:
1. From either Pasay or Cubao bus terminals of  Victory Liner or Five Star, hopped on to bus going Dagupan. Drop off point is the terminal of either of the two, then ride the Baguio bound buses of Victory Liner in Dagupan, may it be a non-airconditioned or airconditioned, they alternately transported visitors and tourist to Baguio City, but at the day before the major events, most of these buses were non-airconditioned. So if you wish to get to Baguio as early as possible, hitch whatever is available.

2. If you like to take the shuttle vans going to Baguio City, you have the option to commute in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija (Common Terminal). Also, available in Dagupan City, shuttle vans to Baguio via GT Transport Inc., just walk about 100 meters from Bus stations of Five Star and Victory Liner or ride a tricycle and tell the driver to take you at the shuttle vans terminal going to Baguio.

Going down from Baguio City is a different story.

So Victory Liner and Genesis are both jam-packed. you have no other options but to wait for your chance if you could still hop on to buses leaving Baguio. The next available schedule for you might be 5 hours or worse, wait until another day. Try your luck in Shanum Street or Otek Street, near Daniel Burnham monument at the Rose Garden, this is where other buses and shuttle vans going to Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, La Union, etc. are stationed.

Leaving for Manila:
1. From the Pines Garage GT Transport terminal in Baguio City, take the Dagupan City route. Once in Dagupan, tell the driver to guide you where Victory Liner or Five Star buses are located, since the shuttle vans terminal is located 100 meters away from these bus stations, or ride a tricycle from the shuttle terminal and tell the driver to drop you off at either of the 2 bus stations. From the bus stations in Dagupan City, look for Pasay/Cubao bound buses. And have a nap while enroute to Manila. Travel time is about 4.5 to 5 hours.
